I am 46 and have tried viagra, levitra, and cialis, with some different results. Bottom line is neither of them really help. My doctor tested my testesterone level and it was normal. My cholesterol level is high (around 230) but the doctor says that is not high enough to be causing ED. My question is what are my other medical options? Are others in the same boat? My cholesterol runs from 190 to 220 and I tried a statin about 8 years ago and had terrible muscle and joint pains. My cholesterol used to be as high as 280 when in my late 20s before I changed my diet to get it down to 220 to 240. I now take fish oil and niacin to keep it lower. Before I got on the ACEIs, I was on a diuretic for 20 years. My next regular appt with my doc is my annual physical in 3 months, so I will probably wait until then to get samples or a script. I am nearly 100% sure I have balanitis. (Penis infection caused by poor hygiene.) I've had smegma build up under the foreskin and have cleaned that away. But occasional itching and some occasional pain remains. Went to see Doctor last week but was told there is nothing wrong. Bit embarrased and don't really want to have to go back. Think it is getting better but need advice on getting rid of red irritation on head of penis. Have been washing regularly but don't know if that is enough.
